Born June 15, 1943 in Houston, Mary Lou was the daughter of O.C. and Lorayne Brewer. Mary Lou was known for her never ending smile, her positive outlook on life, her sense of humor and her devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her beloved grandson, Austin. She graduated from Howard Payne University in 1965 with a degree in business. On October 15, 1966, she married the love of her life, John Holcombe, in Houston. In October, the two of them celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Southfork, Colorado. John and Mary Lou had a beautiful daughter, Susan, whom she loved and cherished with all of her heart. Mary Lou was a homemaker and was known for her tantalizing, home cooked meals, and fabulous desserts. She loved making her home attractive, warm, and welcoming for friends and family. She had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and enjoyed planning and preparing amazing food for all to enjoy. She enjoyed her time as a board member at the White Pool House Museum in Odessa and spent years rescuing unwanted Basset Hounds from the West Texas area and placing them in loving homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Chet and Lula Jo Holcombe. Survivors: In addition to her husband, daughter, son-in-law, Mark Jones, and grandson, Austin Jones, Mary Lou is survived by her cousins, Judy Wiggins and Frances McCarthy, many other family, friends, and granddogs.
