Lucila Madrigal, 69, entered the presence of the Lord October 23, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1948 to Luis R. Madrigal and Maria Teresa Delgado Madrigal as the fourth of eight children.
Lucie, as she was known to all, was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. She was a voracious reader, world traveler, animal lover, marathon runner, and wine aficionado. Though a native Houstonian, Lucie moved to Tampa, Fl in 1982 where she lived for 32 years. She was a good friend to many, especially the AVC ladies of her bible study group; as well as to the many members of her Helm family - many of whom she kept in touch with after her retirement and subsequent move back to Texas where she built her dream home by the bay in San Leon.
Lucie was a devout Catholic. She lived her faith daily, sharing her story with others willingly and always trusting in the Lord.
She's predeceased by her parents, her brother, Francisco "Frankie" Madrigal, and sister in law Lisa Madrigal. She leaves behind her brothers and their wives, John and Gina, Louis and Anita, Jay, Hector and Virgie, Richard and Rosa, and her devoted sister and brother in law, Rosario and Adalberto Sanchez; 8 nieces and 6 nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Traditions Hospice for their excellent care and commitment to Lucie during her illness, especially her nurse Barb Velasco. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation 5-9p, Thursday, October26th, Rosary at 7pm. Burial Service 11:30a, Friday, October 27th, Chapel of the Angels, Forest Park.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, Texas.
